The Ultimate Enfield

Britain's L42A1 is, quite simply, one of the finest sniper rifles ever made.

The Enfield No. 4 (T) in .303 (top) and its offspring, the .308-caliber L42A1 (bottom), both featured the rugged No. 32 telescope.

There is little doubt that during World War II the British fielded the best general-issue sniper rifle of the conflict, the No. 4 (T) Lee-Enfield. Granted, both the Jerrys and the Yanks came up with some fancy, schmancy limited editions and one-offs, but for sheer quality in a semi-mass-produced product the No. 4 (T) was at the top of its class.
